Another Version

I've been playing around with my Nik software, the Complete Collection having been a significant part of my post-processing arsenal for over a year now. I've recently learned a few things about HDR images and wanted to try a few things out with one of my images.

I posted an image of this place a few weeks back. This is a slightly different composition, and slightly different processing. This is an HDR, and the previous version was not. Arguably, I didn't need to make this an HDR image to do what I wanted, but since I wanted to play with HDR Efex Pro, that's what I was going to do.

One thing I've learned about post-processing is that the subtle, lighter touch is almost always the best. This was a hard pill to swallow for a guy whose usual motto is, "If some's good, more's better." I was working with Nik's Glamour Glow filter here, because I wanted a little something extra, a little special sauce to make the image sing. Glamour Glow is something you can easily go over the top with, but I don't think I did that here.

So what do you think of this image? Do you like it better or not quite as much as the previous version? If so, why?
