One of our favorite places to visit when we're in Gatlinburg is Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Admittedly, it's not really a photography destination, but it's one of the coolest places we go when we're there, so I wanted to share a few images from the afternoon we spent there. And by the way, if you go to Gatlinburg in the summer, the afternoon is a great time to visit the aquarium. It's not usually oppressive in Gatlinburg in the summer (like it is in Memphis or Houston or Abilene), but the afternoons can be a bit warm. So spend the morning in the park, but take an afternoon and hit the aquarium. You'll enjoy it immensely.
Here are a few of my favorite images (the first one is not really artistic, but I like the quote, so I'm sharing it):
This last image was taken after we left the aquarium. We were walking to the car and saw this dainty little praying mantis on the flower. It's nothing fancy, just a simple click, but I enjoyed watching the little guy.
More to come . . . .
